As we all know May 17, 2014 was International Natural Hair Meet Day and I attended mine in my home town Baltimore presented by: Koils By Nature hosted by: Lakisha Hill. First we started off with an Welcome Icebreaker which allowed us to open up and talk to one another. There were a live demonstration by: Masani Noor where she taught us about the history of headwrapping. My favorite part would have to be the Q&A with Masani Noor *Master Natural Hair Stylist, Haircraft Natural Hair Parlor & Learning Lounge, Laquisha Hall *Mrs. Essence 2013, Author, Inspirational Speaker, Youth Mentor, Fashion/Beauty Blogger, Tamara Teshiera *Natural Hair Stylist, Essentials Beauty Spa and last but not least Crystal Powell *Ceo Coily Candy, Lifestyle Blogger which opened up a discussion about black hair and how society still critizes natural hair.
Something I wasn't expecting to see but was a fun surprise was a Live demonstration for Pole Fitness by: Mica Saunders *Owner Pole Pressure Baltimore*. Another highlight of the day was beautiful decorated table with food and desert. Also the vendors were wonderful they had jewelry, shirts, wraps, shirts and of course natural hair products!!! Not to mention the Dj was jamming from beginning to end. To top it off there were swag bags and prizes given out. In conclusion it was a great turnout and they helped support #MsAwareness!!!
